Ecological condition assessment and precise source evidence through high-end fluorescence analysis.
Standard laboratory parameters often provide only a rough picture of substance concentrations. However, the true ecological relevance and origin of pollution are hidden in the composition of dissolved organic matter (DOM). I make DOM quality usable as an independent indicator of water health.
I use fluorescence spectroscopy and PARAFAC modelling to break down the organic matrix. This not only enables a specific ecological assessment of water and soil processes, but also provides the answer to the critical question: ‘Where does the phosphate peak come from?’ We make a clear distinction between point sources (e.g. municipal wastewater) and diffuse sources (e.g. agriculture) and clarify causalities where standard parameters are blind.
Your added value as a client:
The deliverable: A detailed interpretation of DOM-specific data, including graphical source attribution and ecological assessment for your expert reports.
Security through data: Reliable forecasts instead of rough estimates.
In heavy rain events, conventional estimation methods (such as the general soil removal equation) reach their limits. Authorities and clients are increasingly demanding detailed evidence of drainage routes and sediment cargoes.
As a specialized partner, I provide you with physically based simulation models that you can integrate directly into your planning as a technical contribution – without having to commit your own resources to complex software.
Your added value as a client:
The deliverable: A finished report section (text, maps, diagrams) for direct use in EIA, submission or scenario development.
Massive time savings through automated cleaning and evaluation of large environmental data streams.
In water management, the amount of data (water levels, probes, sensors) is growing faster than the capacity to evaluate it. Highly qualified engineers often spend hours manually cleaning Excel lists or correcting errors in time series.
I automate this process for you. Using customised Python and R scripts, I clean, validate and analyse your mass data – precisely, reproducibly and in a fraction of the time.
Your added value as a client:
The deliverable: Validated data sets, interactive visualisations or the provision of finished scripts for permanent use in your office.
Direct access to academic innovation and practical expert training.
The gap between the latest research and technical regulatory practice is growing. As an interface expert, I translate complex scientific innovations into tangible tools for your everyday planning.
Whether through pilot project support or targeted training, I ensure that your team remains at the forefront of methodology.
Your added value as a partner:
The deliverable: Tailor-made in-house training courses, support with funding applications or scientific documentation of innovative pilot projects.

About me
As the founder of ecosight e.U., an engineering company for environment and water management, I combine in-depth knowledge of biogeochemistry, hydrology, ecology and data science to develop innovative solutions to complex challenges.
Thanks to my academic education and extensive experience in model development, ecology, field investigations, chemical analysis, mathematics and the development of specialised software for data analysis , I offer in-depth expertise and a multidisciplinary approach. My interest in nature, the preservation of our livelihoods and the understanding of scientific processes is my greatest motivation to work intensively on these topics.
My passion lies in the analysis and modelling of complex systems to develop data-driven and practical solutions . Whether it's sustainable strategies, analysing large data sets or advising on challenging decisions - I deliver tailor-made approaches that combine scientific precision with practical feasibility. I place particular emphasis on close collaboration with my clients, leveraging existing expertise and developing actionable solutions that create clear value for mankind and nature.
My previous work includes the quantification of carbon turnover rates in watercourses through field studies, the implementation of safety analyses and the development of safety concepts for technical systems as well as the development of quantitative assessments and graphical representations of expertise in interdisciplinary teams.
My aim is to enable clients to make well-founded, data-based decisions and to support them in the successful realisation of their projects .
